Charity Shop Bargains

I love charity shops; I love second hand stores; and I love car boot sales. There is nothing better than getting a bargain. I recently picked up a brabantia breadbin for £1. It was good as new and even the lady at the counter was pretty astonished at what a bargain I'd found!

In Brighton one of my favourite places to go charity shopping (or thrifting for any American readers) is George Street in Hove. It's one long pedestrianised street packed full of charity shops. I recently picked up this beautiful red and white polka dot dress. You know when you enter a charity shop and you eye it straight away? Well off I toddled and tried and it on and lo and behold it fit like a glove.

I also spotted this one - which will perfect for the summer months:

If you are after some tips on charity shops you should check out A Thrifty Mrs - she's done a fab video recently all about this topic!

Do you like charity shops? What great finds have you discovered recently?

  3. Hi Fran, I love your finds. I'm never very successful on the clothing front, although last summer I managed to pick up a coat I had seen  for sale at £90 the previous winter for £12. I always ask about knitting and crochet needles and patterns and have been very lucky with those. x

  4. Hi Fran, love your finds! My best one was last summer when I managed to pick up a coat I had wanted the previous winter that cost £90 for a bargainous £12! I always do quite well with knitting needles and crochet hooks too, and patterns which I buy mainly for the giggle factor! x

I recently posted some charity shop finds actually!! I love them! I had the same feeling of seeing something automatically and buying within a minute recently! I live near Brighton in a little village and have great charity shops! I love the guild care and the fact they sell new wool for cheap! Crafting AND doing good for charity, double win! xx

  7. Hi Fran - I love charity shops too.  I like to find bags of DMC embroidery threads, old quilt covers and shirts for cutting up and travel books - old ruins have been there for years so the fact it is a 2002 edition never worries me!

It was a nice read, sometimes couples in love really take horrible decisions which i have raed in many love confessions on different website online. Happy to read that this was not something like that.
