Sewing a removable seat cover

A while back I posted about how I'd found this awesome wheel backed chair at a charity shop. My lovely Stepdad (who is an upholsterer by trade) covered it in calico with velcro all around the sides so I could make a removable cover for it.

The thinking behind this was that I get bored of patterns quite quickly, so I could easily make another removable cover. Well - it wasn't *that* easy but i did figure it out.

I simply took a pattern from the chair using old newspaper, pinned and tacked it and then sewed on the velcro!

Now I was a bit stupid because I put the darts in first and then sewed on the velcro after - which is why you can see it isn't snug.

However, the material and velcro fold very easily and even though it's not perfect I think it's pretty darn good for a first attempt!

And I love, love, love this fabric!!!
