I've been a bit quiet of late so I thought I'd do a "Currently..." post for a bit of a life update
Reading: The Siege by Helen Dunmore. This was a gift from my Dad. We have really similar tastes so I love it when he buys me books. I'm pretty near the beginning but already I'm loving it - beautiful descriptions and words that flow effortlessly.
Watching: At the moment Tom and I are watching season 2 of Boardwalk Empire. When
Katie and I were in New York a few years ago we saw Michael Pitt on the subway in Brooklyn. He was literally sat right opposite us. I was incredibly excited. Obviously, Boardwalk Empire didn't exist then...we were just excited we'd seen Henry from Dawson's Creek....
Listening to: Well right now this second I'm listening to Push It by Salt n Pepper as I've got 6music on. It's a great track though. I've also been listening to No Doubt's new album
Push and Shove. No Doubt have been one of my all-time favourite bands since I was about 11 years old. I finally got to see them when I was 17 and to this day (even after all of the hundreds of bands I've seen) it is still one of my favourite gigs. The new album is growing on me - there are definitely some great pop songs on it and hopefully the release of this album will mean a UK tour!
Thinking about: all of the projects I'm working on at the moment. Work has been pretty busy which is so great! I'm working on a real variety of stuff at the moment from training community organisers how to get the most out of digital, social media research, marketing strategy for a not-for-profit organisation, writing articles for a government organisation and lots more! I'm so happy that my business has taken off, I am thoroughly enjoying working for myself and getting to work with some amazing clients. I've never felt such job satisfaction before. It's brilliant!
Loving: my new craft project. I've started making a quilt to try and use up all of the ridiculous amounts of fabric I have. I haven't made one before so it'll be interesting to see how it turns out!
Looking forward to: the weekend as my Dad is coming down. I am of course excited to see my Dad but the reason for his visit is to deliver my writing bureau! He's made it from scratch and has taken him about 400 hours in total! I am so excited to see it in real life. The pictures look absolutely beautiful.

Making me happy: Just feeling like my life is how I want it to be. 2012 has been a funny old year with lots of unhappiness and stress but right now I feel pretty good about everything. I want to hold on to this positivity.

| I pinched this picture off Katie - it was from our holiday to the Norfolk Broads - and it makes me smile :) |
What's going on with you at the moment? I'd love to see your currently posts - so please feel free to drop your posts in the comments section!

So great to hear that everything is going so well for you. Am so impressed with with how well you are doing working for yourself. You seem to have loads of projects on the go already! Quite amazing. Specially juggling with all your media commitments last week ;) I finally met Victoria at EHMTIC conference on Sunday which was great. Really interesting conference but sad to see lots of migraine sufferers that hadn't heard of the National Migraine Centre. Hope you are keeping well. Fiona xxxx
ReplyDeleteHi Fran, I'm glad to hear things are looking up for you! Lovely holiday snap :-)
ReplyDeleteHave you looked at Georgina Giles' blog for quilt tutorials? She has a super simple 3 part one. Tell her I sent you!
Your Dad is amazing building that from scratch! I love a Dad day. Mine visited a couple of weekends ago and we went for sushi then came home and watched The Simpsons all afternoon. Loved it.
I've just posted an instagram round up about what I've been up to: http://claireabellemakes.com/2012/09/25/instagram-round-up-crafts-and-cambridge/
